About Restoring Pembrokeshire hedge banks
Learn the art of building and restoring traditional stone-faced hedgebanks in Pembrokeshire.Help rebuild missing sections of traditional stone-faced hedgebanks around Southwood farm, the National Trust's home farm for North Pembrokeshire. Spend the first day enjoying a guided walk of the Pembrokeshire coastal path, then get closer to the sea with a day of kayaking with our local out door activity provider Preseli venture. Instructors and equipment will be provided. You'll need to be physically fit for the 6-8 mile guided walk and water sports, and the tasks may require heavy lifting and working on rough terrain.
About the accommodation
Ysgubor Fawr (Large Barn) offers spacious accommodation with sweeping views across the North Pembrokeshire coast. The converted agricultural building also houses the North Pembrokeshire ranger work base. Two dormitory rooms sleep nine people in bunk beds and there are two separate rooms for full-time volunteers. There is a small grassed area at the back of the bunkhouse with picnic tables – an ideal spot for a barbecue and to watch the sunset over the Irish Sea.
