About Traditional timber countryside furnitureLearn traditional woodworking skills to create gates and benches.
The ranger team at Woolacombe need your help to improve their welcome to visitors by tidying up their outdoor furniture. They’re making gates and benches using traditional methods to dot around the place - perfect for weary walkers to sit down on, lean on, or simply pause at, while taking in the gorgeous North Devon coastal views.
Ranger Paul is a master woodworker and will teach you how to make cleft chestnut gates and benches in no time, which will then be added to the local landscape. You’ll also get a chance to have a go at some simple green woodworking crafts.
