'Awakening' exhibition at Leith Hill Place

In May and June the house will be hosting its first ever open call exhibition, entitled 'Awakening', looking at the arrival of spring and the blossoming of the garden. Work selected from over 30 artists will be on display.

With 58 artists having submitted work for consideration, it was a tough job to narrow the selection down to a reasonable number which could be displayed in the gallery space. Pieces were chosen for their relevance to the theme and the local area, as well as for standing out for a unique style or quirky interpretation of the brief.

The 31 artists selected offer a variety of media including prints, jewellery, scultpure, ceramics and 3D work as well as paintings and sketches. The majority of the work is for sale.

The exhibition will be open Friday to Sunday from 3 May-30 June, 11am-5pm. Admission is free for National Trust members, but admission charges apply for non-members.
