Car parking machines at Lee Bay

In September 2026, the car park opened at Lee Bay with a new pay and display machine and ANPR. This new machine now includes the ability to pay by contactless. Visitors also now have the option to use an app, JustPark, or to scan their membership cards.
The previous parking machines used by the National Trust were out of contract in late 2025, and unfortunately, continuing with the existing system was no longer a viable option. These changes have been introduced to ensure we can offer a reliable service that's more fit for purpose for all our visitors into the future. We understand that there’s wide demand for visitors to pay by card which they haven’t been able to do on the old machines, and so the new machines will include the ability to pay by contactless to make it easier for visitors. Payments and membership scans can also be made via the JustPark app.
The app the Trust is using is JustPark, which operates at over 25 Local Authorities across the UK and has over 13m drivers registered. Find out more about it here: JustPark - The Parking App | Find parking in seconds
Yes. The app compliments the visitor journey and is available in every car park.
The JustPark Parking code for Lee Bay is 82702.
Once set up, JustPark needs very little signal to process transactions. If you are unable to get a signal on arrival, you can make a payment when you next have Wi-Fi/mobile signal within 48 hours. Please download the app on the App Store or get it on Google Play ahead of your visit. Alternatively, payments can be made by calling JustPark on 07520 634455 and quoting the location parking code (82702).
We’ve moved to a visitor journey which will not print tickets. Not only does this save the cost, effort and paper of replacing ticket rolls, but it enables visitors to start their experience at our places without having to return to their car.
The machine will ask you to add your registration number, so we’ll know you’ve paid from that. We’ll also know if you’ve used the app to pay or check-in with your membership card.
At the machine you can request an optional receipt if you paid by contactless card. There are two options in the JustPark app, which each cost 20p additional to the parking fee:
- A reminder - which is not needed as parking lasts all day.
- An email receipt, which is also not needed for most, unless they plan to expense their parking with an employer for instance.
Where there is no pin pad, the card reader should never ask for your PIN and will just take payment.
We are still asking members to scan at every visit, either via the machines in the main car park, or via the JustPark app - each time a membership card is scaned we receive £4.02 towards our vital conservation work. Both options will mean your car is recorded as being parked compliantly, and North Devon receives extra money from general funds to spend on conservation and improvements.
You can log your parking session on the JustPark app when you next have Wi-Fi/mobile signal within 48 hours of your visit.
- When you have downloaded the app, select “create account with email or phone number”. Follow the instructions and input all of the requested information. Complete the registration by verifying your account via clicking the link sent to your email address.
- You can add additional account information by clicking on your initials icon in the top right-hand corner of the app, such as your vehicle registration number and payment methods you prefer to use.
- Enter the location code of where you wish to park (for Lee Bay the code is 82702). Select the car park and the duration you wish to park, then hit next/payment.
- This next page is where you can add your National Trust membership to your account. Select “add membership” near the bottom of the page. The next page will request you to scan your membership QR code or add your membership number. Once you have scanned or added the number, providing your membership is valid, you will then see “£0.00 to pay” on the next screen and your membership details will be displayed.
- You will still need to hit “PAY NOW £0.00” to ensure you have checked in at the property and validated your parking. Your membership will now be added to your account for you to use at all National Trust car parks.

Please be aware that if you wish to receive SMS reminders there is a charge of 20p, even if you’re a member. Simply switch this off on the app if you don’t wish to receive these.
If you’re membership card isn’t working properly, please either use the app where possible or call the Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895 to organise a new card.
Yes, we offer different rates at the moment which includes a one-hour rate, a two-hour rate or an all-day rate.
Parking can be pre-paid on the day of your visit via the JustPark app. Please note, the arrival time you enter needs to be the time you book the ticket at. Please note by booking in advance, this does not guarantee you a parking space.
Currently, JustPark and our payment machines are unable to process National Trust for Scotland membership cards, please display your membership sticker in your windscreen.
