Head down to the Villa to meet some very special residents. Nearly 2,000 years ago, the Romans introduced these remarkable snails as a culinary delicacy. Today, their descendants thrive within our ancient walls, delighting visitors from across the country.

Join us for the Snail Trail, a family-friendly experience packed with snail-inspired fun:

* Giant Snail Slip ’n Slide – race across our outdoor board game. Will you slide to victory or slip into the cooking pot? * Snail Racing – strap on a shell and snail eyes for a hilarious challenge! * The Snail Shuffle – test your balance in this wobbly contest. * Snailed It! – aim for glory in our beanbag toss. * Magnifying Station – inspect a real Roman snail shell up close. * Snail Mail – send messages to ancient villa residents. * Snail Twister – twist and turn with friends and family. * Pom Hunt – track down Pom, our Roman Snail mascot, hiding among the artefacts. * Play games in the Play Pavilion – relax and play snail-themed classics. * Audio Guide – narrated by a famous time-travelling snail.
