The Farne Islands star in series four of BBC Two’s Hidden Treasures of the National Trust, revealing the extraordinary work involved in caring for this remote and wildlife‑rich place.

Cameras go behind the scenes to follow the delicate conservation and cleaning of the stained glass window in St Cuthberts Chapel on Inner Farne, uncovering centuries of history preserved in one of the islands’ most atmospheric buildings. The episode also shines a light on the annual puffin census, capturing the skill, dedication and sheer logistical challenge of monitoring one of the UK’s most iconic seabirds in such an exposed environment.
