Derrymore trail run

The Trust10 is a free waymarked trail run that invites runners of all abilities to come along and enjoy the Derrymore estate. The monthly 10km run is free, fun and informal. Join in and try something new, train for a race, do it for fun or with family and friends.

When is the run?

Trust10 happens on the fourth Sunday of every month and includes four laps of a route at Derrymore.

Registration opens from 8.30am, pre-run briefing is at 8.55am and the run starts at 9am.

What should I be aware of?

Hills

Derrymore has some steep hills that may be challenging for some runners.

Take care near livestock

Please take care around livestock. Slow down and if necessary, stop or detour around them. Do not pass between cattle and their young. In the unlikely case of an incident with livestock, the run will be ended and you may be asked to turn around and return to the start.

Where is the run?

The Trust10 follows a multi-terrain route, running along a track, through fields and around the Derrymore estate. There's uneven ground, stiles and mud in sections, (it can be very muddy after heavy rain). It consists of four loops of the route to complete the 10k.

The route is marked with flags and signs with arrows. There will also be marshals and a back runner.

Parking

Designated visitor parking is sign posted. The carpark is open daily from 08:00 – 18:30

What should I bring?

This is a multi-terrain trail run, so we definitely recommend trail shoes for clambering over the hedges and negotiating the mud. Please bring your own timing device if timing is important to you, as this is an informal event and we don't provide times. It's also smart to bring water or other liquids to rehydrate.

Who is the run suitable for?

We welcome everyone to give the Trust10 at Derrymore a go, but be aware that it's not a flat parkrun-style event and does include going to the top of hill.

The recommended age of runners is 14 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept under control and on a fixed lead, (not an extendable one), at all times.
