Eating and shopping at Basildon Park

The tea-room at Basildon Park serves a range of hot and cold drinks, and seasonal meals and sweet treats. Whether you’re popping by for a takeaway coffee, staying for lunch or collecting supplies for a picnic, you’ll find something that hits the spot. From gifts and seasonal treats to gardening must-haves, the shop at Basildon Park has everything covered.

Eating 

Located on the ground floor of the mansion, the tea-room is the perfect place to stop and relax on a visit. With delicious treats and a seasonal menu, as well as traditional cream teas, there's sure to be something to tempt you. Hot food such as sausage rolls, jacket potatoes and soups is available, as well as sandwiches, cakes and drinks. 

Toolshed kiosk 

The Toolshed kiosk in the Stableyard is usually open at weekends and during school holidays, serving drinks and light refreshments to grab and go.

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free. 

If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.

Places to picnic

There are plenty of spaces for you to enjoy a picnic. The front lawn is an ideal, spacious place to lounge on or, for rainier days, there are some covered picnic huts near the Stableyard.  

If you're feeling in the mood for a more adventurous spot for your picnic, why not find a secluded space along one of the four waymarked walks? There are several benches dotted around or bring a picnic rug with you to enjoy your al fresco lunch.

Shopping at Basildon Park 

Complete your visit to Basildon Park with a visit to the Stableyard shop, just a few yards from the car park. You'll find a wide range of items, from seasonal gifts and accessories to garden furniture and plants.

Gardener’s delight 

If you've been inspired by the garden at Basildon Park you can pick up some beautiful plants and bulbs. There are also plenty of gardening tools available to help make light work of getting them in the ground when you are home. 

Seasonal specials 

A varied range of seasonal items are available in the shop, including kitchenware inspired by seasonal flowers and wildlife, and delicious chocolate and treats. Why not ask for the staff's monthly favourite items and discover our shop highlights?
