Uppark reopened on 27 July 2025 following some essential conservation works. Please note, there is scaffolding on the south side of the house. This will not affect access to the house. Scaffolding will be in place until work is completed, this October.
Go on a nature walk
Follow our leisurely Meadow Walk for a chance to see widlife including birds, butterflies and maybe even a brown hare. Make stops along the way to enjoy spectacular views across the South Downs and as far as the Isle of Wight.

Have a picnic
There's a picnic area with benches on the green opposite Visitor Reception, but you're free to picnic anywhere around the grounds, including in the meadow.
Fly your kite
Thanks to Uppark's position high up on the South Downs, the meadow is also a great place to fly a kite.
However, while we have scaffolding at Uppark, please don't fly your kite nearby.
