Family fun at Wicken Fen this Christmas

Father Christmas gives a gift to a child

There's so much to see and do at Wicken Fen this Christmas. From visiting Father Christmas at Fen Cottage to taking part in our winter wander trail. Here's a few ideas to help you plan your day out.

Meet Father Christmas

Join us this Christmas for a traditional family visit to see Father Christmas in the Fen Cottage.

Join the elves to make a decoration, and collect a Christmas craft pack to take home, before popping into the Fen Cottage where Father Christmas will be warming his toes by the fire. He will have a present for you too of course!

Dates to meet Father Christmas: 4, 5, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21 December.

Times: 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3pm

Cost: £10 per ticket (no charge for accompanying adults, a maximum of two adults per child, when visiting Father or Mother Christmas).

Mother Christmas will be standing in for Father Christmas on 4 and 5 December while he is very busy elsewhere.

This event is very popular and always sells out quickly, so please book in advance via our events page.

Percy the Park Keeper winter wander trail

Join our family trail this winter and become Percy’s helper for the day. Step into Percy's wellies, helped by his animal friends, while he is busy across the Fen. The trail will include winter activities and games along the way with a prize at the end.

When is the trail?

The trail will take place between Saturday 4 December and Monday 3 January (excluding Christmas Day), 10am-3pm.

Follow the trail around our Boardwalk and Woodland Walk to see how you can help Percy this winter.

Trails are £2 per child in addition to admission (free admission for National Trust members) and can be purchased at the visitors centre.

Booking is not required for the trail.
