Enjoy fun family days out at Wicken Fen this half-term. Join nature's band, explore on wheels, discover cuckoos calling and much more.

Fun packed days 

Join in with our '50 things to do before you're 11¾' at Wicken Fen.  Our '50 things' area in the Woodland Walk is a great spot to head to for exciting outdoor play and is open every day: 

No. 12: Have fun with sticks - make a stick trail, balance a stick on your head or No. 4 build a den; the only limit is your imagination!

No. 25: Join nature's band  - create your own musical masterpiece using our new musical instruments made from natural materials.

No. 31: make friends with a bug - pick up a bug pot and find one of the many insects that live at Wicken Fen.  

Book one of our events: find out what the amazing cuckoo gets up to on the reserve and enjoy games and crafts, discover the wonderful underwater world of Wicken Fen and the creatures that live there or become a nature detective and solve the clues left behind by animals.

Wonderful wildlife

With over 9,000 recorded plants and animals, you're bound to see some amazing wildlife. You can watch birds, insects and small mammals like muntjac and roe deer from the wildlife hides around the nature reserve.

Explore on two legs...

Enjoy a family stroll at any pace around the all-weather boardwalk, explore our woodland walk and or head out for a longer walk to discover new fenland.  

Join in with our Big Vision Treasure Hunt around Baker's and Adventurers' Fens, finding clues along the way to complete the puzzle and claim your prize!  The treasure hunt trail is approximately 2.5 miles/4km and will take around 1 hour 30 minutes to complete.  Drop in anytime over half term to take part.

...or two wheels

Grab some wheels and explore the wider reserve, local villages, or cycle the Lodes Way to Anglesey Abbey. Bring your own wheels or hire one of our bikes (just ask in the Visitor Centre).

Hop on board

Enjoy a peaceful cruise along the beautiful Wicken Lode on board the 'Mayfly'. Trips operate up to 4 times a day, find out more.
