Full-time volunteering in North Pembrokeshire

Volunteers building a Pembrokeshire hedgebank

Have you ever fancied working in the countryside? If so, we have the perfect opportunity in North Pembrokeshire to equip you with skills, knowledge and understanding to kick-start your career.

Free accommodation and training

We have vacancies for full-time Volunteer Rangers at our Mathry work base. You get free accommodation with no bills to pay. You get hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a variety of skills linked to nature conservation.

A great opportunity

Living and working on the Pembrokeshire coast you'll get to work with the ranger team. You'll help carry out work such as stock fencing and gate hanging, footpath construction and maintenance, and look after our Welsh Black cattle and mountain ponies.

Learn heathland and woodland management techniques in the winter and how to identify rare plants and animals in spring and summer. Formal training by a recognised provider is part of the package, in return for your commitment and enthusiasm to volunteer.

Special places

We look after some of the most special parts of the Pembrokeshire coastline, from the Marloes Peninsula right up to the Ceredigion border. We care for a range of habitats, from secluded wooded valleys to coastal maritime heathland and small traditional farmsteads.
