Grow your knowledge with a Kitchen Garden Tour

Gardeners in the Kitchen Garden at Ham House and Garden, London

Ham House's 17th century walled kitchen garden is productive and stunning all year round. Historically it would have grown enough fruit and vegetables to feed the whole household. It was also a showpiece for esteemed guests.

Fruit, vegetables and flowers make for colourful companions – and today we use organic principles and encourage a wide range of wildlife and plants to thrive here.

Led by one of our dedicated volunteers, this 30 minute tour is designed to inspire everyone from the greenest of gardeners to more experienced horticulturalists.

When to visit? Kitchen Garden Tours run on Wednesdays only at 2.30pm from 8 May to 2 October 2019, volunteer guides permitting. There’s no need to book for any of the times but do call on the day if you are making a special trip to confirm tours are taking place.

Booking: There’s no need to book and tours are free. Normal admission applies for the garden, with NT members going free.
