This summer at Plas Newydd, we're bringing sports day back - and this time, the whole family can join in. Every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the school summer holidays, there'll be plenty of opportunity to play. With a wide selection of sports activities to suit all abilities and ages, we want the whole family to get outdoors and remember how it felt to be part of those exciting days when all that mattered was being outside and taking part.

Let us help you to discover and enjoy our beautiful parkland at Erddig with our fun beginner jogging and Nordic walking sessions. Our approachable and knowledgeable volunteers are there to guide and support you every step of the way.

Penrhyn Castle, Bangor 

Why not explore the magnificent grounds of Penrhyn Castle like never before. There are lots of fun, friendly activities to engage with, including our beginner jogging groups. For early risers, challenge yourself to complete a timed 5km parkrun for free (organised every Saturday). Look out for our friendly female only led cycle rides and discover Penrhyn Castle in full bloom and on two wheels.

Chirk Castle, Wrexham 

Looking for the perfect woodland cycling or running route for all the family? Weave through the trees and discover Chirk Castle’s estate at your leisure using our self-led walking, cycling and running routes. If that’s not enough, we also have lots of tennis taster sessions arranged throughout the Easter and summer holidays as well as running groups and Nordic walking groups for beginners.

Llŷn Peninsula 

There’s plenty to explore along the Llŷn Peninsula from sandy beaches, to stunning headland and hidden coves. Between Whitsun and September why not get wet and wild with our kayaking sessions for all the family in Aberdaron. During the summer there will also be opportunities to have a go at stand up paddle boarding at Porthdinllaen.

Dinefwr, Carmarthenshire 

What better way to discover the splendours of Dinefwr’s 18th century landscape than by joining one of our many walking routes. If you’re visiting during the summer months look out for ‘Try it Tuesdays’ when the whole property will come alive with a variety of sporting activities for all the family to enjoy. Or challenge yourself to the annual 5k and 10k White Park Cattle Run in September.

Tredegar House, Newport 

Explore 90 acres of beautiful gardens and parkland at Tredegar House by signing up to a free weekly 5k parkrun. You can choose to time yourself or simply enjoy a leisurely jog in the grounds of the late 17th century mansion – one of the wonders of Wales.

There’s no better place to immerse yourself in the outdoors than Snowdonia. Try our new family friendly multi-user footpath in Nant Gwynant; perfect for cycling, running or walking. Or if you’re looking for more of a challenge head to Carneddau and Glyderau for a network of footpaths with some of the best views in Wales.
