Christmas at Uppark
THIS ARTICLE RELATES TO UPPARK’S 2019 CHRISTMAS OFFER AND WILL BE UPDATED FOR 2020 The year is 1750 and you've received an invitation to attend Lady Sarah's Christmas Ball at Uppark. In the ground there's festive walks to be enjoyed or a family trail inspired by the Georgian era.
This festive season we're celebrating a traditional Christmas inspired by the infamous parties hosted by Lady Sarah Fetherstonhaugh. The rooms in the mansion are dressed with typical 18th century Christmas party scenes and intricate paper decorations by artist Denise Watson.
- The house is dressed for Christmas between 30 November and 5 January, 11am to 3pm.
- Admissions for the estate apply. Entry is free for National Trust members.
- The whole estate is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Winter walks around the estate
There's nothing like a winter walk on a crisp day under blue skies. Uppark's hilltop location means far-reaching panoramic views across the beautiful South Downs landscape. Every step you take helps support our winter conservation work.
Visiting Uppark with a young family
Bring little ones, dressed to impress, to take part in Lady Sarah’s Christmas trail. Trail sheets are collected at the Golden Gate, which is just past the Visitor Reception. The trail costs £2 per child plus the usual admission charges to the estate.
Lady Sarah’s Christmas family trail runs every day from Saurday 30 November to Sunday 5 January, from 10am to 3.30pm.
