Accessibility at Flatford

There is Blue Badge parking and drop-off point and an accessible toilet. There is level access to tea-room and an accessible countryside path. If the blue badge car park is full, blue badge holders can park for free in the main car park.

  • There are five designated parking spaces.
  • A drop-off point is available.
  • Blue badge holders can park for free in the main car park if the blue badge car park is full.

Moving around the site

  • There is an accessible countryside path.
  • There is level or slighlty sloping access to the main parts of the site. The ground surface is either tarmac or compressed gravel.

Moving around the buiuldings

  • There is level access to tea-room, the gift shop and Bridge Cottage. There is ramped acces to the Constable exhibition. There is ramped access to the Granary when the buildng is open for events. Please note that floors can be uneven in places due to the historic nature of some buildings.

Facilities

  • There is an accessible toilet
  • There is a large Changing Places facility located adjacent to the Blue Badge car park, with hoist and changing bench. This facility is open when the tea room is open.

  • Induction loops at all till points.
  • One powered mobility vehicle is available to borrow from the visitor reception
  • One manual wheelchair is available to borrow from the visitor reception
  • Our Access Vehicle is able to meet coach groups on requst and may be available on other days, subect to volunteer availability.
