Join one of our Heritage guides on a one hour guided tour of the garden. Each month there will be a different subject, from 'Beautiful Bark' to 'Trees under threat' so there’s always something new to see. The walks are free, normal admission applies, otherwise all you need is appropriate clothing for the weather and sturdy walking shoes. There are limited spaces, available on a first come basis.
Upcoming dates:
Tuesday 11 November -'Oaks and beeches'
Looking at the different species of Oak and Beech on the site. Include bark, colours, habit and any seasonal fruits. Consider abnormal growths, such as galls, and take a peek inside.
Tuesday 9 December - 'Taking care of trees at Claremont'
A look at how the National Trust checks for damage and disease, concentrating on the health of individual, significant trees. Discussing decisions that have to be made regarding trees in a public place.
