Walking at Winkworth

Join us as we launch social walks at Winkworth! This is an opportunity to develop your fitness through walking, explore nature and meet others at the same time.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Are you a keen walker, or looking for an opportunity to walk more regularly? Would you like to spend more time in nature and discover more of Winkworth and the surrounding countryside?

Join our friendly team of volunteer walk leaders for walks on both well-loved and lesser-known routes around Winkworth and beyond. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors, explore new places and meet other local people. At the end of your walk, refreshments will be available from our visitor centre cafe. We are launching social walks at Winkworth and would love you to be part of it as it grows into a valuable community resource in one of Surrey's most beautiful landscapes.

Walks vary in length and difficulty. Each walk will be advertised in advance, so you can choose one that suits you. Our knowledgeable walk leaders will also be on hand to answer questions.

Walks will take place on the first Monday and third Tuesday of each month with a maximum capacity of 15 walkers.

Days and times may be subject to change, so please always check the website first.

Please note this walk is not for dogs.

The first walk will take place on Tues 21 July at 11am. It is a leisurely scenic walk of approx 1 hour visiting the Fox Memorial and Boat House. The walk is generally level but there are a series of steps down to the boat house and a corresponding climb back up the hill to the visitors centre. This walk is not suitable for wheelchairs and push chairs. Elevation is 170ft descent and 167ft ascent.
