Eating at Avebury

The Circles Restaurant

The Circles Restaurant is open for light lunches such as pasties, jacket potatoes, soup and sandwiches. We also offer children's lunchboxes. Throughout the day, we serve cakes, light refreshments, and of course hot and cold drinks.

Whether you are calling in for a quick cuppa, or for a delicious lunch with a cake for pudding you can be assured of a warm welcome.

There is seating available inside the restaurant If the upstairs is open you'll find a perfect view over the stone circle to enjoy.

Allergen information

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.

If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.

Always check when you visit

Visited before? We sometimes change our recipes to improve quality and flavour, including the ingredients. When you visit, please speak to one of our team to check the current allergen information for your favourite dish.

Thank you

Every cuppa or tasty treat you buy helps us to continue looking after places for everyone to enjoy.

If you prefer to sit outside, there are a number of picnic tables in the Old Farmyard that can be used to provide an ‘al fresco’ eating experience. You'll find water for dogs outside the restaurant and tie up points on all the picnic tables.

Shopping at Avebury

The National Trust shop

A festive experience awaits at the shop which includes Christmas decorations and gifts for children and adults alike.

Seasonal products include woollen blankets and throws in warm, winter colours as well as hats, scarves, and gloves for protecting against the elements.

Locally made artisan products include beautiful, recycled, silver jewellery, soaps and toiletries, candles and reed diffusers. There is also a wide range of books from children’s stories to archaeology and gardening guides.

If you are looking for a taste of Christmas, pick up a National Trust pudding or try a bottle of traditional Mead.

Cobblestones second-hand bookshop

Located in an old stables building, the bookshop gets its name from the original cobblestone floor. Well placed just off the High Street, it contains a wide range of books, from classic fiction to titles on cookery and gardening.

All funds raised go towards looking after Avebury and other similar sites.

If you visit Avebury, feel free to bring any books you need to clear from your shelves and donate them to Cobblestones. Please note that we can only accept one box or bag of books per visit.

Thank you

It is through your purchases and support that we are able to continue to care for nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever.
