Eating and shopping at Fountains Abbey
Tummy rumbling? Break up your adventures at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with some tasty refreshments. Afterwards, look for the perfect gift or a treat for yourself in the National Trust shop and plant centre.
Eating at Fountains Abbey
The Visitor Centre Restaurant
A range of seasonal food is served at the Visitor Centre Restaurant, with hot meals, sandwiches and sweet treats among the items on the menu. If you're not feeling peckish, you can simply enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, or you can choose to take your purchases away with you.
The Studley Royal tea-room is perfect if you're looking for a light bite or a cup of tea. Grab a quick lunch or snack to enjoy inside the tea-room or on the outdoor tables overlooking the lake. You're welcome to take a treat away with you as you continue on your adventures too.
The Mill Cafe
The Mill Kiosk is the place to go for a bite to eat, sweet treat and a drink if you’re exploring the area by the abbey. With benches outside, it's the perfect spot for enjoying the lovely view across the green.
Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.
If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.
Always check when you visit
Visited before? We sometimes change our recipes to improve quality and flavour, including the ingredients. When you visit, please speak to one of our team to check the current allergen information for your favourite dish.
Every cuppa or tasty treat you buy helps us to continue looking after places for everyone to enjoy.
Treat yourself in the shop
Located in the Visitor Centre, the National Trust shop and plant centre is the perfect place to browse for that perfect gift for someone special or a little treat for yourself. Go on, you deserve it!
You can park up just outside in our large free car park, and pop in whether you're visiting the abbey or not. It's one of the biggest National Trust shops in the region, and with a friendly team at the ready, you shouldn't have any trouble finding what you need.
You’ll find it hard to resist our range of seasonal stock inspired by National Trust places, from beautiful silk scarves in unique prints to homeware pieces for every living space. Whether you fall in love with the range of beautiful patterns or are tempted by the fresh floral scents of this season’s candles, we've got plenty to inspire you.
Tempt your tum with a sweet treat or whet your whistle with a fruit wine. All the jams, preserves and chutneys we stock are made in Britain, and there are local choices too. Will it be a pot of Yorkshire honey or a tipple of locally distilled gin?
The shop has a large range of tools and accessories for the garden, as well as seasonal blooms that will add some colour to any indoor or outdoor space.
Fun for the kids
Head to the children’s corner to pick up some cool stuff for your little explorer. You'll find everything from den-making kits and binoculars, to bug-tracking tools and stationery. There's a great selection of pocket-money picks, too.
It is through your purchases and support that we are able to continue to care for nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever.
