Meet our nature ambassadors in Wales

Meet our six nature ambassadors in Wales who have been chosen to share their stories and inspire others to spend time in the great outdoors.

In early 2018, we launched our search for nature ambassadors by asking those who felt that nature played a significant part in their life to come forward and share with us their special place in Wales.

We received lots of fantastic stories showcasing the positive impact nature can have on our lives. With the help of our Outdoors and Wellbeing Ambassador, rugby legend Jamie Roberts, six ambassadors were selected.

Lucy and Eirlys

“At 53 and 67, recently made redundant and retired, we decided to walk the entire Wales Coast Path. We can confidently say that walking clears the mind and lifts the spirits. It has certainly filled us with great optimism and confidence to take on any crazy project that appeals.”

“I love Sugar Loaf, it is one of my favourite places of all time. It’s so clean, so fresh which makes you feel alive. Running up mountains sounds crazy, but it really does give you an immense feeling of satisfaction. The struggle to the top, no matter how you get there, is always worth it upon seeing that view.”

Isla and Mia

“Nature heals, inspires, brings courage, reveals, calms, teaches, connects and much, much more. For free. It’s right there, outside your door.”

“It was where I experienced outdoor adventure for the first time. I left my council job to retrain in outdoor pursuits, realising just how lucky I was to live 20 minutes from this magical area.”
