Fun for families at Emmetts Garden

Bring the whole family along for a fun filled day of exploration, games, picnics and laughter.

Make the most of the meadow

The meadow offers plenty of space for a good run around. On top of that Emmetts Garden has field games you can borrow from skittles to giant dominoes. If you're really keen why not bring your own cricket set and get the whole family involved?

Go for gold

Unleash the explorer within and go geocaching around Emmetts Garden. Collect a GPS tracker from the Visitor Centre and see what treasures you can find hidden around the site.

School holiday trails

Never fear, Emmetts is here to keep the kids busy over half-terms and school holidays. Pick up a trail map from our visitor centre and get closer to nature on one of our seasonally themed family trails.

Find spooky nature on our Hallowe'en themed adventure in October half-term, get in the festive spirit with our Christmas trail and indulge in choccy fun on our annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt.

Emmetts Garden is now open all year round, so you can wrap up warm for February half-term with us or pop on your shades for summer exploration.

Head to our What's On page to discover our upcoming trails, including times and prices, by clicking on the link below.

Make a day of it

A family playing on the swings at a National Trust property

The swings

Have you tried out our swings yet? They're made especially for those explorers with shorter legs. Find the swings just past the wild play area and see how high you can get.

A child plays dress up in the tepee at Emmetts Garden, a National Trust property in Kent

Tepee play

What's that hiding among the trees? It's a tepee of course. Let your imagination run wild and try on the fancy dress clothes you'll find inside. The tepee in the wild play area is perfect for younger adventurers, though we won't blame the adults for wanting to join in the fun!

A girl enjoying den building at a National Trust property

Wild play area

Get stuck into adventures in our wild play area located just past the old stables café. Can you walk across the balance beams without falling off? Why not challenge each other to see who can build the biggest den? Climb on the stepping logs and play in the camp - the fun is never ending.
