Hanbury Lodge is at the entrance to Hanbury Hall, a WIlliam and Mary-style country house, garden and park. Built in 1840, the lodge feels very homely with low ceilings, cosy rooms and an open fire in the sitting room.

The garden has views over the parkland and up to the main hall, where you'll have free entry during opening hours. Visit to find out about the house and the family who built it in the mid-1600s, to see paintings by George Thornhill, and the formal gardens which were originally laid out by George London and have been recreated. There's also an orangery, walled garden and orchard growing 47 varieties of apple; you can even pick some on selected dates in early autumn. There are all kinds of events here throughout the year, from tours to exhibitions and seasonal programmes including Christmas, and a National Trust café, shop and adventure playground.

A little further afield, you could head to Droitwich Spa or Birmingham. Stratford-On-Avon, Evesham and the Malvern Hills are all within 20 miles of the cottage.
