Ticknall Lodge sits at the northern entrance to Calke Abbey and park. Built in 1806, this Grade II listed building has been refurbished as a holiday home but still retains a great deal of character. The most intriguing feature of the cottage is its unusual pentagonal shape. The rounded shape of the living room encloses you in to a cosy space with an open fire, while three large windows stream in lots of light.

Within easy reach of Calke Abbey and conveniently located close to East Midlands Airport, you can take advantage of the cottage's unique position and explore this beautiful building before the other visitors arrive.

Further afield, make your way to the town of Melbourne. Within easy reach of the cottage, enjoy a hot drink and slice of cake in a tea room, before sitting down to lunch at one of the towns many pubs and restaurants.
