We’ve got a bumper crop of harvest activities for all the family this half-term at our special places across Wales. Get outdoors and enjoy the autumn countryside, solve some spooky mysteries and head for family fun at our castles and houses.

Turn bat detective on a night walk or join a spooky Hallowe'en trail with ghoulish activities and games. It’s the season to get outdoors and closer to nature with our stunning waterfall as a backdrop and tick off more 50 Things activities.

Join us for a night-time ramble in the woods on 2 November and tick off some more of your ‘50 things’ - go for a nature walk at night, go star-gazing and cook on an open fire.

Are you brave enough to explore the haunted history of Newton House? Join our family friendly tours, with magic tricks and mild spooky tales or, for the over-14s, there’s a more spine-tingling version. Half-term means pumpkin carving too, and conker competitions in the park.

Head into the walled garden to find all of our carved characters on Erddig’s new apple sculpture trail or boldly go indoors and join our conservation battle against the forces of destruction.

Pembrokeshire’s alive with spooky happenings this half-term. Make pomanders at Tudor Merchant’s House in Tenby, go on a bushcraft adventure at Stackpole and get crafty with Hallowe’en lantern making and spooky trails at Colby Woodland Garden and Southwood Farm.

As our First World War story draws to a close, tackle our rationing trail which will lead you around the castle’s state rooms. Finish in the Old Kitchen where you’ll be able try some authentic war time recipes. In the garden, hunt along the terraces and in the shade of giant yews for hidden Halloween pumpkins; some will hold important clues that will help you solve the Powis Hallowe’en mystery.
