Across the country our staff and volunteers are working hard to illuminate houses, decorate Christmas trees and hang thousands of twinkling lights. Take in the sparkling and colourful lights as night falls at a place near you.

A night at Aberdulais Tinworks, Neath Port Talbot

Looking for something a bit different to the usual Christmas lights? Head to Aberdulais Tinworks and step back in time to Christmas in the Victorian era. Dress up like a tin worker and join us on a lantern lit walk as we delve into the past. See and hear first-hand what it's really like working in a bustling tinworks, and make sure you stop by the Victorian school for your lesson.

Christmas evenings at Blickling, Norfolk 

1 - 10 December 2017

Lord Lothian was instrumental in helping to broker Indian independence, and 70 years on his efforts are being celebrated at Blicking with a year-long exploration of the story and Indian culture, culminating in a beautiful Christmas display. See the house decorated in gold, green and white, then head outside to discover ribbons of lights winding their way through the parterre and round to the walled garden. The iconic Christmas trees will also be making their return, lighting up the drive and Temple walk with their soft glow.

Echoes of Calke's Christmas past, Derbyshire 

2-3, 9-10, 16-17 and 23 December 2017

As darkness falls experience Calke in all its twinkling glory. Follow the lanterns to the candle-lit church and see the pleasure grounds all aglow.

Dunham Winter Lights 1

Christmas light trail at Dunham Massey, Cheshire 

1–3, 8–10 and 14–24 December 2017

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Dunham Massey, and the gardens are all aglow with light. Follow the one-mile sparkling path as it winds through the woods to see the canopy illuminated with shards of light and hung with snowflakes and sparkling baubles. There will be plenty more magical surprises along the way, not least the spectacular water feature finale.

Take a festive stroll through Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. See the trees twinkling with light and the abbey all aglow. Stop by the cellarium to catch some live festive music.

Visit Wallington after dark to see the house beautifully decorated and illuminated for Christmas. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy festive music in the Central Hall.

House of Light at Woolsthorpe Manor, Lincolnshire

All around the Manor, local groups are creating a series of new artworks inspired by light and science, with each space representing different meaning. Take a tour through the rooms and see Isaac Newton’s home in quite literally in a new light.
