12 days of Quarry Bank Christmas

Friday 1 December–Sunday 7 January 2024

Delight as your little ones follow our new festive trail exploring Quarry Bank Christmas both past and present. Find the 12 days of Quarry Bank Christmas across the property and fill in your festive song sheet. Enter the competition for a chance to win a National Trust gift card and hamper of Quarry Bank treats.

£2 per trail, avalible from Visitor Reception. Admission charges apply.

Winter walk

Wrap up warm and adventure out on a crisp winter walk through the woodlands and countryside. With walks from 2km to 6.2km there is something for all ages and abilities. Meanders along the River Bollin Pick up a walking map from visitor reception.

The Apprentice House and Quarry Bank House at Christmas

During weekends in December enjoy a visit to the Apprentice House and Quarry Bank House with a festive twist. Visits will be free flow and our guides will be dressed in festive outfits of the time.

Christmas food and drink

This Christmas, the Weaving Shed Restaurant and Upper Garden Café will be serving a range of festive delights. You can treat yourself to a seasonal cake and warm up with a latte or hot chocolate topped with all the trimmings.

Christmas shopping made easy

Indulge in a touch of retail therapy by visiting the Mill Yard Shop. Discover gorgeous seasonal homeware, gits and our beautiful range of Quarry Bank fabric woven right here in the mill on the heritage looms. Give a gift that will do some good.

Festive choirs

This Christmas, join us in the Mill yard to listen to Christmas carols sung by local choirs. Every weekend in December have your spirits lifted by festive tunes, sip a warming hot chocolate while you enjoy, and perhaps even sing along with, some well-known yuletide favourites, sure to leave you feeling jolly.

Tickets for this years Enchanted Winter Walk, winter theatre and all the Father Christmas events are sold out. Thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you. Winter theatre: The Snow Queen – Sold out

Performances at 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday 9 December

Join Quantum Theatre for a performance of the Hans Christian Anderson festive classic, The Snow Queen. Michael Whitmore’s enchanting adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s magical tale conjures up a captivating mix of fantasy, fable and love triumphing over evil in this ever-popular Christmas classic.

Enchanted Winter Walk – Sold out

Selected dates between Thursday 30 November – Saturday 23 December

With festive lighting and illuminated walkways, wander through the Upper Garden on our Enchanted Winter Walk. Keep an eye out for Mrs Claus preparing the sleigh for Christmas Eve, and little ones, don’t forget to pick up your reindeer food ready for the big day. Tickets include entry and hot drink for adults. And for children tickets include entry, reindeer food and child size hot drink.

Meet Father Christmas – Sold out

Selected dates between Saturday 2–Saturday 23 December

Wish lists at the ready! Join us for a special 30-minute session of festive activities and crafts, including a private family visit to meet Father Christmas and receive a gift.

Baby and toddler festive play session with Father Christmas - Sold out

Selected dates between Friday 1–Friday 22 December

This 30-minute session will include an interactive story/song, a keepsake craft for you to take home, and toys for the children to play with. Father Christmas will make a special visit, giving each child a gift and there will be an opportunity to take a photo with the man himself.

A Quiet Visit with Father Christmas – Neurodiverse Friendly - Sold out

Morning sessions will be hosted from 21–23 December

Christmas is for everyone, and this year we are delighted to offer neurodiverse friendly sessions to meet Father Christmas. Attendees will experience a special 30-minute session including festive activities, crafts, the chance to meet Father Christmas and receive a gift.
