The Grantham House team are available at the information point to support you with your visit. Level access on the ground floor of the house only, this includes access to the accessible toilet, with a mixture of flag stone and carpeted flooring throughout. Visitor toilet has stepped access. Some uneven surfaces with gravelled pathways and grassland in the gardens. Limited accessible parking. A mobility scooter and manual wheelchair are available to hire. Accessible toilets: • Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor, next to the Dining Room. Designated parking: • Limited accessible parking available for visitors next to entrance courtyard. Please contact Grantham House team in advance to reserve your accessible parking space. Level access to food outlet Level access to second-hand bookshop. Seating available and accessible picnic benches in the gardens. Wheelchairs available • Pre-book a wheelchair for your visit by calling Grantham House. Uneven terrain • The grounds at Grantham House, due to its historic setting, can be uneven. Step free routes with gravelled pathways around the house and the Walled Garden, and uneven grass terrain that is seasonally muddy. Steady gradient throughout the gardens, leading upwards from the River Witham to the house.
- By road
Located just off the A607, on Castlegate. Exit the A1 at Gonerby Moor and follow B1174 to Castlegate. If travelling from Nottingham A52, join the A607 and follow the A607/ B1174, turning right onto Castlegate. Grantham House is on the left-hand side.
Parking: There is no visitor parking available at Grantham House. Ample parking available in Grantham, not National Trust (there is a charge, including members). Limited accessible parking on site close to the entrance courtyard. There is no visitor parking on Castlegate.
- By train
The nearest railway station is Grantham (1 mile away), a 20-minute walk from Grantham House. There are direct trains to Grantham from: Peterborough, Nottingham and Doncaster (about 30 mins), Leeds and London Kings Cross (about 60 mins).
- By bus
Regular buses, passing close to Grantham train station, every day. Nearest bus stops to site are located at Grantham, The Kings School or Grantham, Vine Street; 0.2 miles and 5-minute walks from Grantham House.
- Cycling
