Eating at Basildon Park

Basildon Park tea room

Serving fresh, local and seasonal food you’re sure to find something temptingly tasty in our tea-room. Choose from two settings and put your feet up.

The tea-room is open from 10am and can be found on the ground floor of the house in the Angkor Wat room. There is a light lunch menu served between 12pm and 2.30pm, which includes a selection of hot and cold food.

Throughout the day you can treat yourself to a cream tea or something else sweet from a large selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, including gluten-free options.
The Old Kitchen is an indoor seating area, near the tea-room, where dogs and pushchairs have space to be without worrying about the mud or wet. Water and dog-biscuits are provided too.

The Parlour

The Parlour is situated through the shop in the stable yard offering a selection of cakes and hot and cold drinks. They can be served to take away or to enjoy in our cosy room. Please note that the Parlour prices are only valid in the Parlour.

Private afternoon tea

Groups of over 25 people can indulge in a private afternoon tea in the Garden Room. The menu includes sandwiches, scones and some of our homemade cake. For more information about booking a private afternoon tea, please email us.

Find a nice spot at one of the picnic tables to enjoy the surroundings as you have your lunch. Or why not pitch up on the front lawn and enjoy vistas of the house and parkland?
