Eating at Basildon Park

Basildon Park tea room

Serving fresh, local and seasonal food you’re sure to find something temptingly tasty in our tea-room. Choose from two settings and put your feet up, or head out with your lunch to find a great picnic spot to really take in Basildon Park and its amazing views.

The tea-room is open from 10am and can be found on the ground floor of the house in the Angkor Wat room. There is a light lunch menu served between 11:30am and 2.30pm, which includes a selection of hot and cold food.

Throughout the day you can treat yourself to a cream tea or something else sweet from a large selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, including gluten-free options.
The Old Kitchen is an indoor seating area, near the tea-room, where dogs and pushchairs have space to be without worrying about the mud or wet. Water and dog-biscuits are provided too.

Find a nice spot at one of the picnic tables to enjoy the surroundings as you have your lunch. Or why not pitch up on the front lawn and enjoy vistas of the house and parkland? Ask at Visitor Reception for some top tips about finding the perfect picnic spot at Basildon Park.
