Autumn adventures this half term
During October half-term the mornings are misty, the evenings are drawing in and it’s starting to feel a little spooky. The perfect time to embrace the eerie feelings and join us for some Halloween fun.
From 7-31 October join us for our traditional pumpkin trails. Your young explorers can search the gardens and grounds looking for our hidden pumpkins and answering questions as they go. Stickers to celebrate their success are available back at the coach house. Normal admission prices apply.
Why not dress to impress and wear your favourite creepy costume? If you visit on the final weekend of the month, go all out and get your face painted by our friendly face painters: Far-Out Faces (£3 per face).
We are also hosting our first children’s creative writing workshop: Spooky Stories. This is running on Thursday 26 October and is fantastic for children between around 8-12 years old, accompanied by a participating adult. Have a look and book today.
There are plenty of places to run around and stretch your legs. Why not explore the spinny, play hide and seek in the green court or go for a bracing walk in the parkland.
Inside the house there is plenty to see throughout, and the family trail “Stolen” to join in. Pick up a stolen trail from the coach house for free.
The Halloween theme extends to the stables tea room where there will be spooky shortbread, as well as food cooked using fruit and veg harvested from our garden.
And when you have finished your day with us, remember to pop into the coach house shop to pick up a memento of your visit. Every penny spent in our shop helps us to continue to look after Canons Ashby for the future.
