Festive walks at Claremont Landscape Garden

A white bench looking down on the amphitheatre and lake in the frost

During the hectic rush of Christmas, there's nothing better than getting out into the crisp winter air to refresh the senses. Claremont Landscape Garden is the perfect spot to bring the family for a gentle stroll over the Christmas season.

For an easy stroll around the gardens, take the short circular route around the lake, suitable for all the family (including the canine members) with level access throughout. Say hello to the waterfowl braving the cold  and admire the eighteenth-century grass amphitheatre as you walk along. You can even enjoy a little greenery as you walk through corridors of laurel and rhododendron.

Coniferous Christmas Walk

On Tuesday 18 December you can join our Coniferous Christmas walk with expert volunteer guide Hilary. It's a wonderful chance to get into the festive spirit and learn all about these magestic trees.

Belvedere Tower

And on New Year's Day, why not challenge yourself a little more with the longer route around the garden? You'll also be able to admire the view from the top of the Belvedere Tower, open on 1 January from 11am to 2pm.

Party like it's 1819 trail

If you've got little people in tow then they'll love our New Year's party themed trail. As the countdown begins to 2019, the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria's birth, they can follow the clues around the garden and discover what it would have been like at a New Year's Eve party 200 years ago.

Tasty treats

When you've finished your walk, pop into the café for a warming drink and a slice of homemade cake, baked fresh daily. Indulge in a mince pie, guilt-free; every bite helps us preserve and protect Claremont's historic landscape for the future.
