Festive walks at Claremont Landscape Garden

After days of Christmas leftovers and TV marathons, there's nothing better than getting out into the crisp winter air to refresh the senses. Claremont Landscape Garden is the perfect spot to bring the family for a gentle stroll over the Christmas holidays.

For an easy Boxing Day walk, take the short circular route around the lake, suitable for all the family (including the canine members) with level access throughout. Say hello to the waterfowl braving the cold - you could even bring along excess Christmas cake or dripping for the waterfowl, a real treat for them and preferable to bread. Admire the eighteenth-century grass amphitheatre, and enjoy a little greenery as you walk through corridors of laurel and rhododendron.

On New Year's Day, why not challenge yourself a little more with the longer route around the garden? You'll also be able to admire the view from the top of the Belvedere Tower, open on 1 Jan from 11am to 2pm.

When you've finished your walk, pop into the café for a warming drink and a slice of homemade cake, baked fresh daily. Indulge in a mince pie, guilt-free; every bite helps us preserve and protect Claremont's historic landscape for the future.
