The Belvedere Tower at Claremont Landscape Garden

The Belvedere Tower at Claremont Landscape garden, Surrey

Open on selected days between April and October, the Belvedere Tower is one of Claremont’s major highlights. With its stunning vistas from the top, it's definitely worth the climb.

When the original 150-acre estate was divided in ownership, the Belvedere Tower passed into the possession of Claremont Fan Court School. They kindly allow us to open the tower for you to visit.

Please note, due to the current social distancing rules, we won't be opening the tour. We are working on opening it up again in the future in a safe way.

A piece of history

The Grade II-listed Belvedere Tower was builtover 250 years ago by Sir John Vanbrugh for the Duke of Newcastle, who was then Prime Minister. Its castellar design was a symbol of the Duke's wealth and power for all to see.
