About Park Cottage

Retreat to this Arts and Crafts style house on the Cragside estate, close to the Northumberland coast.

A fine example of a Victorian Arts and Crafts style house, Park Cottage makes for a pretty stay amid the sweeping parklands of the Cragside estate. It’s full of character inside with wood-panelled walls, antique furnishings and a pretty formal dining room. From its front rooms you’ll have window views of the Coquet Valley and the Simonside Hills.

Head out into the heart of the estate and stroll through the hilly woodlands and formal gardens. As a guest you’re invited to explore the main Victorian house free of charge. Many events take place here throughout the year, from conservation talks to Victorian baking sessions.

If you’re a keen golfer, Rothbury golf club and its town are less than a 10 minute drive. Explore a little further to the east and you’ll come to the wild Northumberland Coast. Discover this beautiful and dramatic coastline before heading to nearby Whitby for a fish and chips lunch.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
