Stables Café

National Trust cafe

We've got a special selection of options in the Stables Cafe – enjoy a treat after a long walk or stop by for a cuppa before you set off. You’re bound to find something to tempt you.

Staying safe

Outdoor and indoor seating is now available at some of our cafés and food outlets. Where seating is available, we are legally required to participate in the NHS Test & Trace programme by asking those visitors over 16 who ‘eat in’ at our outlets to check in with the NHS COVID-19 app, scan their membership card or leave brief contact details. Details are not required for visitors who purchase items for take-away.

Our cafés and food outlets continue to prioritise the health and safety of staff, volunteers, suppliers and visitors. We continue to maintain social distancing measures, screens at our till and collection points, waymarked routes and will have hand sanitiser available, to ensure that everyone can enjoy their visit as safely as possible. In line with government guidance, you're required to wear a face covering in most enclosed spaces, unless exempt. Please bring one with you. We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone.

Daily menu

Pop in throughout the day – the Stables Cafe is open between 10am and 5.30pm, and the Kitchen Garden kiosk between 10am and 5pm. You'll find a wide range of sandwiches, bacon or sausage baps and light snacks such as soup or sausage rolls, as well as cream teas, crisps and confectionary and ice cream. There's a special children's lunchbox for little ones or one pot lunches served with bloomers for heartier appetites. We've got a range of vegetarian options (try the vegan pasty) and you can pick up a fresh coffee or tea to take away with you.
