National Trust Winter cake

There’s so much to choose from in the Stables café – enjoy a delicious treat after a long walk or stop by for a cuppa before you set off. You’re bound to find something to tempt you.

Daily menu

Throughout the day pop in for a wide range of cakes, scones and cream teas on offer from 10am till 6pm.
Enjoy a selection of hot and cold lunches served 12-2.30pm every day. Choose from a seasonally changing menu including:
  • Soups
  • Hot meals 
  • Sandwiches 
  • Desserts
  • Cakes and tray bakes
  • Dorset cream teas 

Treats for all

We offer a range of vegetarian options and our sugar-free fruit cake, ideal for diabetics, is very popular too.

Festive fare

From 30 November to 1 January, the Cafe will be open from 10am-4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and until 7pm every Wednesday to Sunday. 

Between 10 and 23 December get your festive fix with a seasonal menu to include Roast Onion Soup, Roast Turkey Dinner and Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce.

We are delighted to have been awarded this accreditation which recognises restaurants, cafes and caterers who serve fresh, sustainably sourced produce which is free from controversial additives and also conforms to animal welfare standards.

Outside dining

After your favourite stroll around the garden enjoy sitting in the restaurant courtyard for a warming cup of tea and delicious slice of cake.
This is the perfect place to enjoy lunch with your faithful four-legged friend - don't forget to pick up a treat when ordering your food and drink. Please note that  dogs are allowed in the Horseshoe, as well as in the courtyard.
