House and garden tours

Mount Stewart House

During Mount Stewart Conversations Festival weekend guests will be able to join exclusive House and Garden tours to gain a unique insight into the work that we do as Northern Ireland's largest conservation charity.

House tours

Free flow visits to the mansion house, 11am – 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday

Mount Stewart provided the setting for Edith Lady Londonderry's house parties, inspiring important conversations throughout the first decades of the twentieth century.  We want every guest to experience the house as it was intended and during Mount Stewart Conversations Festival the house will be a sensorial attraction filled for all to enjoy.

Just as Edith would have done, the house will be filled with scented flowers, the table will be laid for dinner, and afternoon tea will be resplendent in the Little Dining Room. As you walk from room to room, you might catch a waft of Lord Londonderry’s cigar smoke, or smell the alluring scent of Lady Londonderry’s perfume created in the 1930’s. Listen to the Bechstein piano in the Drawing Room playing music once again – and, is that the sound of Edith’s Dachshund excitedly barking in the background?

Guests will be invited to take in the atmosphere of Mount Stewart, and appreciate the work of Lady Londonderry in creating such a magical interior.

Garden tours
