The Second-hand Bookshop
One of the National Trust's most popular bookshops, every year the funds raised from the sale of secondhand books fund vital conservation projects across the estate.
From its potting shed location in the centre of the garden, over 25,000 books are sold each year with funds raised going towards vital conservation projects across the estate. From fiction and crime to gardening and natural history - hundreds of titles are regularly updated by a dedicated team of volunteers who keep the bookshop open 363 days of the year.
Fundraising in the bookshop
In 2016 /2017 we raised over £50,000 in second-hand book sales, £25,000 of which went towards the ruins project. Not all funds raised in the bookshop go towards the ruins project, but they do all stay at Nymans, helping us carry out essential work across the House, Gardens and the wider estate.
