Wellness activities at Nymans

Everyone needs nature. In our increasingly busy and connected lives, it’s more important than ever to take a breather and just be in the moment outdoors. At Nymans in this, the 125th anniversary of the National Trust, we’re taking time out to notice and connect with nature and reap the benefits for our wellbeing.

Forest bathing and wellness walks at Nymans

During the spring and summer, Helena Skoog, forest bathing practitioner, will be leading sessions in the Woodland. This metaphorical bathing will help you calm your mind and open your senses. In the garden, led mindfulness walks will help you tune-out from inner chatter and tune-in to the natural world. Or look out for signposts around the garden and woods highlighting our favourite places for reflection with some inspiring words.

Explore nature as a family

There are plenty of opportunities to get the family nature exploring too. During February half term, we’re celebrating the music of nature, with opportunities for families to make and play instruments made from natural materials as well as taking time to notice the sounds of the landscape. During the Easter school holidays, our Cadbury Easter trail will have you taking an imaginary voyage in the natural world, with our Easter trail ‘Postcards from The Green Ship’. inspired by Quentin Blake’s classic story.
