Christmas at Osterley
This year we’re celebrating Christmas with our traditional Wreath Workshops, and a family trail in the Gardens. Why not make a day of it and visit the Treasures of Osterley exhibition in the House? Afterwards you can head to the café and treat yourself to a warming drink and a mince pie, then do a spot of Christmas shopping.
Christmas Wreath workshops
Create a beautiful wreath for your door or a stunning table centrepiece this Christmas. Using foliage from the estate collected by our gardeners, these workshops are perfect for novice and experienced wreath makers alike. Why not bring some friends and pop into our café for lunch as a winter treat?
Festive Present Trail
Explore the gardens and find the presents hidden along the way. Complete the activities and solve the puzzle as you go around. Afterwards head to the shop to collect your small prize. £3 per trail, normal admission applies.
This year you’ll be able to enjoy the formal gardens with your four-legged friends. Come down to the garden kiosk, pick up one of our leads and explore the wintery landscape. There’s always something beautiful to see, and this time of year is the best time to visit our winter garden, with its rare plants. Or work off some energy with a stroll around the mile-long Long Walk, with beautiful views of the rear of the house.
In the Café
We’ll be serving seasonal food, including mulled wine and mince pies. Enjoy a luxury hot chocolate to warm up, or try our one-pot for lunch. Dogs are welcome in the café, so pop in to warm up after your walk. Our café staff will be holding a wreath making competition, so come down and see the results of their creative work.
In the shop
With a wide range of products, you can find a gift for everyone. From woolly hats to traditional kids’ toys, gin to local honey and eco-friendly cleaning products, buy a gift for someone you love or just treat yourself. If you’re looking for reading material to see you through the long dark evenings you can head across to our Second-Hand Bookshop. We’ve got books in a variety of genres, and all the money raised goes right back into keeping Osterley looking special.
