Don't let the winter blues set in when Saltram is just on your doorstep. Wintery strolls in the park, snowdrop spotting in the garden and treasure rooms open in the house, not to mention the winter warmers being served up in the Park Café.
The weather may be damp and cold, but there's still plenty of reasons to get outside and down to Saltram. With a trail to keep little ones busy in the garden and the west wing of the house open from 20 January, there's lots of ways to make the most of your day.
New year, new fitness plan
If winter means your jeans are still feeling a little tight, Saltram has plenty of room to run, walk or cycle your way into the New Year. Follow signs for route 27 to take you to our other favourite place to cycle, Plymbridge woods.
On the first Sunday of each month a free monthly way-marked 10K run takes place around the Saltram estate. A free, fun and informal chance to enjoy traffic free routes, great views and a unique training opportunity.
Shouting loudly, banging drums and fiery torches make the perfect recipe for Saltram's annual Wassail on Saturday 25 January.
February half term at Saltram
Another chance to let off some steam and run around the garden or cycle on one of the estate paths; have you tried the pump track? Perhaps this is your year to get stuck in to the '50 things to do before you're 11 3/4' challenge; just ask in the welcome centre and they can tell you all about it.
Pull on your wellies and throw on your coat; whether it's '50 things to do before you're 11 and 3/4' or a visit to the west wing of the house, there's lots to see and do.
Time for a stroll
Ready to blow away the cobwebs and get some fresh air? The garden is open every day from 10am and is perfect for a gentle stroll amongst the snowdrops and cyclamen. For a more adventurous walk we have plenty to choose from in the park and our friendly team in the Welcome Centre will be happy to provide you a map of the estate with our riverside, dell and boundary walks helpfully marked out for you. The Park Café is open daily from 10am-4pm to reward you with a warm drink and tasty treat after a blustery stroll.
