Winter at Saltram
Don't let the winter blues set in when Saltram is just on your doorstep. Wintery strolls in the park, snowdrop spotting in the garden and the treasure rooms open in the house, not to mention the winter warmers being served up in the Park Café.
There's family activities all week during the February half-term with indoor and outdoor fun to keep the kids the occupied. Rhyme Time returns to the house where younger children can join in with rhymes and actions in the Staircase Hall. For the more adventurous we have pond dipping in the garden hunting for frogspawn. Pick up a copy of our Rainy Day trail from the Welcome Centre for daily fun in the house and garden.
February half-term 12 - 21 February
The house is open all year round now and for the first time ever in January and February you can take a peek at the treasure rooms with collection illuminated. You’ll even find a family friendly trail to keep little ones occupied too. The house is open daily from 11am to 3.30pm with taster tours running most days which you can book on the day at the Welcome Centre.
Ready to blow away the cobwebs and get some fresh air? The garden is open every day from 10am and is perfect for a gentle stroll amongst the snowdrops and cyclamen. For a more adventurous walk we have plenty to choose from in the park and our friendly team in the Welcome Centre will be happy to provide you a map of the estate with our riverside, dell and boundary walks helpfully marked out for you. The Park Café is open daily from 10am-4pm to reward you with a warm drink and tasty treat after a blustery stroll.
If winter stores mean your jeans are still feeling a little tight, Saltram has a series of outdoor activities perfect for getting back into shape this New Year. Raise your heart rate without breaking a sweat with Nordic Walking every Monday morning or for something more challenging you might like to crack our Trust10 run on Sunday 17 January. The Pedal Power social ride series continues on Sunday 10 January and could be the perfect way to break in the new bike you got for Christmas.
