Eating at Treasurer's House
Head downstairs to the café, free to enter on open days.
After two years, the team are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the café once more. It's a new smaller menu in the same historic venue and your purchases support the work of the National Trust. Stop by when you're in the city, meet friends and family or visit as part of your day exploring the house on a tour.
What to expect on your visit
- Order at the counter and the team will look after you from there.
- Take a seat at a table or one of the comfortable chairs in the basement, tickets to the house are not needed to enjoy the café.
- High chairs available for the youngest customers.
- Takeaway is available if you wish to head outside with your drink.
Please note the café is accessed by stairs only.
Plants not plastic
The takeaway packaging you will get your food and drink in are made from a plant based material - not plastic. This makes them fully compostable after they've been used and in turn, this will help future crops grow.
Remember your reusable cup
Every time you present a reusable cup when you order a hot drink at one of our cafes, tea rooms or kiosks*, we'll give you 25p off as a thank you for helping the environment by reducing the number of disposable cups used. This promotion replaces the hot drinks loyalty card scheme, which closed in February 2021.
*Discount not guaranteed at food outlets operated by third parties.
