Christmas at Standen
Arts and Crafts style rooms are dressed with softly lit Christmas trees and decorations inspired by the Beale family's wishes for Christmas. During 'Twilight Lates' weekends in December, see the house atmospherically lit for Christmas.
Dreaming of Christmas at Standen

It’s Christmas and the Beale family have decorated their home in festive splendour, inspired by its beautiful Arts and Crafts interiors. See patterns escaping from wallpapers, peacocks leaping from curtains and Christmas magic inspired by the family’s playful storytelling, weaving enchantment into every corner. Normal admission applies. Closed 24 & 25 December. Last entry is 3.30pm.
The Merry Mice Family Trail
Sat 22 Nov 2025 - Sun 4 Jan 2026: 10am - 3.30pm.
Set off on a playful adventure around the garden and follow the Merry Mice family Christmas trail. The cheeky mice have been getting up to all sorts of Christmas mayhem and need some help to put things right. Follow your trail map around the garden to discover games for all the family. Pick up a trail sheet from reception (where you’ll also collect a small gift, one per trail).
The last chance to buy a trail sheet is 3pm. No booking is needed, just grab a map and explore at your own pace. Perfect for children aged between 3 and 8.
Trail £4.50 which includes a small gift. Normal admission applies.
The Merry Mice Christmas Trail
Twilights at Standen
Sat 5 Dec & Sun 6 Dec, Sat 12 Dec & Sun 13 Dec, Sat 19 Dec & Sun 20 Dec: 3.30pm–6pm.
Listen to local choirs as they sing around the Christmas tree. Wander inside the house magically lit for the evening and experience its atmosphere as night falls. Choirs start singing at 3.30pm.
Last entry to house is 5pm. Last order in the cafe is 5.45.
Christmas Selling Exhibition
Sat 21 Nov – Weds 23 Dec: 11am–3.30pm (closed 24, 25 & 26 Dec &1 Jan)
