Evening ghost tours at Ham

Ham House at night

This article relates to 2019, please come back soon to find out about our future plans.

Tours are running Monday 21 – Friday 25 October, Sunday 3 November and Wednsday 6 – Friday 8 November.

The evening starts at 6pm where you will enjoy some hot spiced apple juice alongside sweet and savory autumnal treats made fresh in our cafe to get yourself in the mood for an evening of enjoyable spine-tingling stories.

Our guides will lead you through the candlelit house in the half-light of dusk when the ghosts are most active, so be on your guard, as you may just experience something you can’t explain. Not every ghost has been seen, some are known only by the lingering scent they leave behind or by the sounds of their footsteps and disembodied voices. With around 15 different ghosts, Ham is said to be one of the most haunted houses in Britain. From Dukes and Duchess to servants and soldiers, unrequired lovers and even a ghost dog, there are plenty of stories to tell.

Tour takes place throughout the house and grounds, so please ensure you are dressed for the cold weather.

Recommended age for this tour is 16+ The tour last an hour and contains details of the history of Ham. If you child younger than 16 but keen on history and doesn't mind spending an evening in an adult audience then they are welcome to join.

For a more child friendly tour, between Saturday 26 October – Saturday 2 November (October half term), we will be running our family ghost tours ( check out the link below).
