Canal Barn is one of five converted barns in the quiet, northern part of the Attingham Park Estate, surrounded by 4,000 acres of parkland, woodland and fields. Built in two phases between the late 1800s and mid-1900s as a cowhouse and hayloft, the barn is now a light and comfortable space with plenty of character and charm. The five barns share an enclosed garden, with a lawn, Dutch barn and firepit, and each have their own outdoor spot with a table and chairs.

There are many walks, cycle routes and waterways on the estate. A canal leads from the bottom of the drive to Berwick Wharf. You’ll have free entry to Attingham Park with its Georgian mansion, garden, orchard and natural play area, and you can explore the parkland out of hours when other visitors have gone home for the day. Attingham’s Carriage House Café, Stables Shop and second-hand bookshop are open every day.

The village of Atcham and local pubs are 3 miles away, and the vibrant town of Shrewsbury is a 15-minute drive. Close by, there are canals, the rivers Severn and Tern, great Shropshire walks, and attractions including Wroxeter Roman City and World Heritage Site Ironbridge Gorge.

Larger groups can also book neighbouring barns Wharf Barn, Tern Barn, Severn Barn and Forge Barn.
