Christmas in the Lake District

Top Christmas days out in the Lake District

Sizergh

There’s winter wonder for the whole family at the gateway to the Lake District this year. Make family memories with our winter lights trail. If you’re visiting us with little ones during the day, you can also pick up a trail card and spot the antlers hidden around the Knoll. Find them all and then choose your favourite antlers for a festive photo opportunity.

Hill Top

This year, Christmas is coming to Hill Top for the very first time, with a brand-new festive experience running from 7 November to 13 December. Step into a cosy, storybook Christmas at Beatrix Potter's farmhouse, where her beloved characters have set the scene with sparkling decorations, gentle music and festive delights.

Aira Force and Gowbarrow Park

We think winter is the best time to visit Aira Force - the waterfall is at its best after a spate of rain. Wrap up warm, feel the spray and blow away the winter cobwebs as it roars down the 65-foot drop. Treat yourself to a warming drink or light bite afterwards from the café.

Townend

Step into Townend's ancient bank barn - a historic building usually closed to the public to get started on a decorative Christmas wreath to take home. All greenery and crafting materials are provided in this laidback workshop, with added mince pies and hot drinks to fuel your creativity.
