Welcoming you in main hall is a paper installation inspired by the winter season by Cumbrian artist Emma Boyes. On selected dates, live festive music and carols will gently fill the house. You can create your own Christmas paper decorations to take home or add to the display. 28 November – 20 December, Saturday to Wednesday, 10 – 4pm.

Winter at Sizergh 

This Christmas, there’s winter wonder for the whole family at Sizergh, near Kendal, on the edge of the Lake District. Find out more and book your tickets.

Visitors, including parents with a small child who is holding his mothers hand, walking around the light trail at Sizergh. The trees are lit up in different colours and Victorian-style lampposts are hung with luminous globes.

Christmas at Townend (4–5, 11–12, 18–19 December) 

Step back in time with Townend's Victorian Christmas. There is festive food on display to feast your eyes on with the gentle aroma of orange and clove pomanders. Our Victorian cooking presentation will be ongoing throughout the day.
