Christmas in the North East
Celebrate Christmas in the North East on a festive day out this year. Discover colourful decorations, enjoy a winter walk and tuck into festive food and drink.
Enjoy festive magic and sparkle both indoors and out at Wallington. Explore the House dressed in its seasonal splendour, enjoy live music, stories with Mrs Christmas and spot the main man himself. Outdoors, look out for thousands of twinkling lights, a huge Christmas tree and 'Magnificence' the reindeer pulling the Wallington sleigh. For an extra special experience, book up a festive afternoon tea or join a Chritmas craft workshop.
Gibside will be festively decorated this Christmas, with sparkling Christmas trees, Georgian inspired garlands and a giant illuminated deer. Wander along the woodland fairy trail, make paper wreaths or follow the North Star to Gibside Stables for an enchanting encounter with Father Christmas and his pointy-eared friend in an immersive theatre experience.
The house at Cragside may be closed this winter but there's still lots of festive fun to be had this Christmas. Go on an adventure through the merry maze, help find the mischievous mice around the visitor centre, make a Christmas decoration to take home, add your hopes and dreams for 2024 to the wish tree or just stretch your legs on the frosted estate.
Get into the festive spirit with Christmas lights, decorations, and seasonal treats at Ormesby Hall this winter, where the scene is set for a panto themed Christmas - Oh yes it is! The rooms will be adorned with sparkling lights, pantomime-inspired decorations from much-loved fairytales like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, and the fresh sweet smell of winter foliage from the garden.
