• How do I get tickets?

  The best way to book your tickets is online, using our event booking link, which will guarantee entry and your preferred time slot.
  
  Please ensure you create a Digitickets account when you book, as this will allow you to swap your slot (subject to availability) should you need to – we cannot do this for you.

• How much does it cost?

  Ticket prices are the standard house admission prices for 2026.

  National Trust members: free

  Adult (non-member): £17.00

  Child (non-member): £8.50

  Family, 1 adult and up to 3 children (non-members): £25.50

  Family, 2 adults and up to 3 children (non-members): £42.50

  Under 5s: free

• Can you take group bookings?

  Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity in our carpark for coaches and minibuses, and our booking system does not support group tickets.

• Can I show my ticket on my phone?

  Yes - you can show us your booking confirmation on your phone or bring printed confirmation.

• When is A Hill Top Christmas Tale?

  A Hill Top Christmas Tale will run Saturday 7 November - Sunday 13 December. Open Friday – Wednesday, 10am-4pm (Closed Thursdays)

• When will Hill Top close during this time?

  The site will close at 4pm each day. Last entry into the house is at 3.30pm.

• Who is A Christmas Tale at Hill Top for?

  A Hill Top Christmas Tale is suitable for all ages - there's something for everyone.

• What benefit do members get?

  Members will not pay for parking or admission.

• How long will my visit be? Will I need to leave once my slot is over?

  We anticipate that a full visit, including the house and garden will take up to 2 hours. Slots are timed to manage the flow of traffic in the carpark, so you will need to leave when your slot ends.

• Will I have to queue?

  There might be some queuing time when you arrive at the car park or whilst checking in at the Welcome desk.

• Can I buy tickets on the day - are you reserving tickets for walk-ups?

  We will reserve a small number of tickets for walk-ups, but booking tickets is the best way to guarantee your place.

  We recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.

  Each timed entry has limited capacity.

• Are the house and garden accessible?

  There is drop-off point close to the house, but no designated disabled parking bays in the carpark, please speak to our team on arrival and find out more about access at Hill Top. There is a level access toilet in the car park (ask at Welcome desk for radar key).

  We have a range of items to use or borrow to help make your visit more comfortable — from fidget spinners to ear defenders and large print guide. These are free to use and do not require booking.

• I’m a carer coming with an NT member

  We offer free admission to the essential companions or carers of disabled people.

  This offer applies to both members and non-members, as well as to our volunteers and members of staff. To save the need for disabled visitors to ‘request’ entry for a companion or carer, we have developed a range of ‘Access for All Cards.’

  Although it is not essential for a disabled person to have one of these cards, it does speed up the entry process and saves people having to explain, often in front of other visitors, that they are disabled, which can make people feel uncomfortable.
  
  If you'd like one of these cards, you can call the Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895. The Supporter Services Centre is open from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm weekends and bank holidays. Local call rates apply. Or you can email us at enquiries@nationaltrust.org.uk with your full name, full address and supporter/member number and someone will get back to you. If you prefer, you can also write to us. • What about baby changing facilities and accessible toilets?

  Baby changing facilities are available in the main toilets in the garden. A step free toilet is located in the Visitor Car Park (radar key available from Visitor Reception).

• Can I bring a pram?

  Yes, you can use a pram in the garden, please note there are three steps up from the road into the garden.

  Prams/buggies/backpack carriers can’t be taken into the house, but we have ‘Hippychick’ hip carriers you can borrow.

  There are free to use lockers and a pram store, both located to the side of the shop.

• Are dogs welcome?

  Our standard policy applies to dogs during A Hill Top Christmas Tale - they are more than welcome on leads in the garden.

  Access to the house is restricted to assistance dogs only.

• Do I need to pay for parking?

  Parking is included in the admission at Hill Top. There is a 2 hour maximum time limit.

• Will the shop be open?

  Yes the shop at Hill Top will be open from 10am-4pm.

• Can I bring my own food and drink?

  There's space to sit and enjoy a picnic outside in the garden, if you'd like to bring your own food, drink, and picnic blanket.
