With 400 acres of parkland to explore, early summer blooms appearing throughout the gardens, and the Great Ball Run launching again, there's plenty for everyone to do at Basildon Park this May half-term.
Curious visitors can venture up onto our rooftop walkway. Make your mark by writing on a handmade tile destined for the roof for a suggested donation of £5. On selected dates, you can chat with conservation experts and learn about hi-tech equipment used to study centuries-old roof materials. For family adventurers there’s tree climbing too plus new Tudor trails and geocaching.
May is the ideal time to get outdoors and try new things. The Chilterns Countryside is clothing itself in green and unrolling miles of valleys and woodlands to explore. Gardens are drying out underfoot and are perfect for running, jumping and hiding.
