Book your boat trip now. Cliveden has a long association with boating on the River Thames. Pleasure boating was an established pastime in the early 20th century. It was so popular that queues for the lock formed along this stretch of the river in Ascot week. Lady Astor used to take her illustrious weekend guests on picnic trips and now you can hire a boat to experience this relaxing pastime for yourself. Choose between a skippered river cruise, self-drive electric boat, Canadian canoe, rowing boat or double pedalo. You can also book a trip in Liddesdale, Lady Astor's own historic launch.

There’s a tapestry of colour in country house gardens this July. The best places to see blooming flower borders are at Cliveden, Greys Court, Hughenden and Nuffield Place. Bees hum through drifts of lavender, roses climb in fragrant swathes, and vibrant perennials create ever-changing scenes. Enjoy the delight of National Trust gardens at their summer peak—perfect for wandering, pausing, and soaking up the beauty of British horticultural tradition.
