The National Trust leaves Eyam Hall and Craft Centre
The National Trust lease at Eyam Hall and Craft Centre comes to an end in January 2018. The Hall, garden and National Trust shop will close to visitors on Sunday 17 December whilst the Craft Centre shops remain open for business as usual.
Eyam Hall and Craft Centre will remain in the ownership of the Wright family, who will continue to open the Hall to the public and make it available for private functions such as weddings.
The Wrights will open the Hall on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 11am-3pm from Sunday 18th Feb - Thursday 19th April 2018 and will open every year for 30 days. Further details about 2018 can be found on the new Eyam Hall and Craft Centre website here
The Craft Centre and Buttery will be open from Wednesday to Sunday all year as before.
The National Trust took on the lease of Eyam Hall and Craft Centre in 2012 with the aim of creating an outdoors hub, from which visitors could explore the beauty of the surrounding area and nearby National Trust places. We’ve had a really positive experience, sharing learning with the Wright family and working with a successful team of outstanding and passionate volunteers.
Due to the costs involved and considering our responsibilities as a charity it has become necessary to hand back the day-to-day management to the Wright family, and re-focus our charitable resources into conservation at properties within our ownership.
Our time at Eyam Hall has been really positive and it’s been a privilege to welcome so many visitors. We wish the Wright family our very best wishes for the future.
